The independent Parliamentary candidate hopeful for the people of Agona East constituency in the central region Ghana Mr Anthony Nii Adjetey Adjei, has vowed to end the tag on Ghanaian politicians that, they used and dumped the strong and energetic youth before, during and after the election.

Mr Anthony Nii Adjetey Adjei was speaking with Kencity media Ashh Fm and richnewsnetwork.com said, when voted in power as a member of Parliament in Agona East constituency his desire is to help the youth in the constituency and be the ambassador for development to end up the bad name taged.

We are in an election year, covert or overtly, campaign has started in earnest. Considering the line-up for the parliamentary seat, the hotbed of activities and the focus of the world will definitely be on Agona East Constituency in the Central Region.

Events of recent weeks on the political front in the constituency call for worry. The attitude of political players to remove, deface or destroy entirely the campaign posters of opponents must be condemned in no-uncertain terms-by all well-meaning constituents of Agona East.

This single act of intolerance and disrespect for choice of ideological affiliations is not only creating an undercurrent of tension but falls foul of our electoral laws. It is simply, a recipe for a looming disaster if not nipped in the bud at this early stages of campaign activities.

Anthony Nii Adjetey Adjei called on the Youth of Agona East to be aware of the very challenges that have been facing the constituency over many years and must not allow themselves to be used by political player(s) who think the only way to serve the people at the highest level must be through violence and intimidation.

He said they must be reminded that, this year’s parliamentary elections is going to be fought on issues through decent engagements, respect for each other’s views and what we can do to bring back the hope, the true definition of participatory governance, giving meaning to the empowerment of the youth who have been marginalized for a very long time, he stressed.

To ensure the peace of the constituency, I humbly plead with the Respected Traditional Leaders, Clergy and Security agencies to as a matter of urgency step in with their influence to call for calm; as we all work towards making Agona East a hub of productivity in the years to come.

An outspoken communication team member of the ruling party in the central region Asin South constituency, New Patriotic Party( NPP), Dr Nana Yaw Agyenim-Boateng has come out to reply NDC members who disagreed with the President’s decision to lift lockdown in major cities which were considered epicentres for the spread of covid-19.

Dr Agyenim-Boateng said, Sammy Gyamfi and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for instance, has said that President Akufo Addo is only choosing politics over science with his haste in lifting the lockdown.
However, Dr Agyenim-Boateng thinks that its needless for them to disagree with the President on his decision, he quizzed.

As Hon Fred Owusu Aduomi ( NPP Chairman- Assin South) said, if NDC people think President shouldn’t have lifted the lockdown, why won’t they (NDC) stay in their homes since the President isn’t forcing anyone to come out of their homes.

Dr Agyenim-Boateng said though the President has spoken, it is now the responsibility of Ghanaians to strategies and decided what to do, to stay safe and protect families and loved ones.

To him, the unnecessary pressure coming from the NDC fraternity won’t help, but they should rather channel their time and energy to educate individuals to observe all protocols to help curb the spread of Covid-19.
The President only lifted the lockdown based on scientific information available to him.

If NDC members disagree with him, why won’t they continue with their personal lockdown because President is not forcing anyone to come out of their homes, he added.

The former aspiring member of parliament for Atwima Mponua constituency and a philantropist, Hon Augustina Osei Asare has donated an items worth of thousands of Ghana cedis to fight coronavirus pandemic in her constituency and Ghana at large.

The items included boxes of hand Sanitizers and Veronica buckets in Atwima Mponua constituency to curb the spread of Pandemic viruse COVID19.

The beneficiaries of the items were the municipal opinion leaders, aged, individuals, troto and taxi stations.

Hon Augustina Osei Asare , speaking to richnewsnetwork.com, said “as part of my contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m donating this hand sanitisers, Veronica buckets to curb the spread of the coronavirus in Kwabere East constituency.

She added that, “In as much as I wish I could donate to all the major Hospitals, towns, market and public places in her Constituency”, the beneficiaries also expressed their joy and gratitude for the items supplied, particularly the sanitisers since it’s become difficult to afford even if you have money to buy.

Some of the opinion leaders said, “in fact this donation has beefed up the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic especially the Hand Sanitizers. He said ever since the nation started this fight against the pandemic, the major problem is the disinfect of our hands.

The aspiring candidate hopeful for Asante Akim South of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP, Hon William Yamoah has pened down his gratitude and delightfulness over the decision by the National Steering Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to postpone the upcoming party’s parliamentary primaries indefinitely due to COVID19 Pandemic.

A statement issued by Hon William Yamoah said, the postponement is in the interest of the citizens of Ghana and perfectly in line with the President’s directives against all social and political gatherings aimed at halting the spread of the Pandemic Covid-19 in the country.
