Deputy national women’s organizer NPP Mimi Duah

The deputy national women’s organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP Mimi Duah says the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC should not be deceived by comparing their newly elected national exercutives to the NPP especially the national women’s organizing slot.

She said comparing NDC national women’s organizer Hana Luiser Bisiw to NPP national women’s organizer Madam Kate Gyamfuah is like comparing apple with mangoes. The incompetent Hana Luiser Bisiw has no milage and credibility to compare herself to the experience and competence Kate Gyamfuah.

Mimi Duah said this at Kwadaso constituency in the Ashanti region when they organized a skills training capacity building for NPP women’s wing.

“So, we cannot compare apples and mangoes,” she stressed. Mrs Mimi Duah made these remarks on Sunday, December 18 while addressing party supporters at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region.

‘Encouraged & emboldened’ she pointed out that what has happened in the Ghana has “encouraged and emboldened” Ghanaian ahead of the December 7 elections that NPP has the men to bring back the economy.

Mimi Duah

“We are encouraged and emboldened by what the NPP Nana Addo led administration has done by stabilizing the economy, reducing transport fare and stabilized the cedis has to activate our organizational machinery and move from house-to-house, community-to-community and intensify our campaign.”

Therefore, she said, NDC are deceiving themselves Ghana’s elections will go for them. She said that party who has no principles “so they jump from one point to the other”.

Door-to-door, window-to-window she called on party supporters to rather intensify campaign ahead of the 2024 elections.

National women’s organizer NPP Mimi Duah.

She said, her constituency even rejected her, it is only the NDC that Ghanaians as of today know they are not any better alternatives that will re-elect Madam Hannah Bissiw to marshal their women. She is the same old Bissiw we know “Dada no a”.

Obaatanpa Kate Gyamfuah as she is affectionately known by all has demonstrated great leadership in leading the NPP Women’s Wing across the nation. You did not get the positions by chance, the people trust and voted for you or gave you the mandate with the other executives to win political power”

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso Constituency, Hon Dr. Kingsley Nyako, Ashanti Region Womens Organizer, Nana Ama Amponsah, the constituency executives, and many more dignitaries attended the program to empower and support the women in the constituency. Prez Nana Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has described the results of the 2022 batch of students who wrote the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as the best in the last eight years.

According to President Akufo-Addo, “six (6) years on following the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy, which has guaranteed a minimum of Senior High School education for 1.7 million Ghanaian children, the highest such enrolment in our history, I can state, without equivocation, that I am very proud of the policy and of its results thus far.”

Delivering an address at the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Opoku Ware Senior High School, on Saturday, 3rd December 2022, the President noted that the 2022 WASSCE results of the third batch of the “Akufo-Addo graduates” shows 60.39% of students recording A1-C6 in English, as opposed to 51.6% in 2016.”

In Integrated Science, he noted that 62.45% recorded A1-C6 in Integrated Science in 2022, as opposed to 48.35% in 2016, with the 2022 result being a slight regression from the 2021 pass rate of 65.70%.

President Akufo-Addo added that 61.39% of students recorded A1-C6 in Mathematics, as compared to 33.12% in 2016; and 71.51% recorded A1-C6 in Social Studies, as compared to 54.55% in 2016.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu Addo

“Lest we forget, the 2021 batch of students, who also obtained very commendable results, were the pioneers of the double track system, which elicited a lot of vilification and unfounded criticism on its introduction,” he said.

The President continued, “The 2022 results are the best of the last eight (8) years. Surely, there can no longer be any controversy about the validity of the Free SHS policy and its consequential measures. It is working, and working well.”

In his address, President Akufo-Addo told the gathering, which included the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Chairperson of the Council of State, Nana Otuo Sriboe II, history, and the experiences of developed nations, have shown the world that the most efficient way to create a society of opportunities, and, thereby, guarantee the future of our nation, is by investing in education and skills training of our youth.

This, he said, is because “it is the people of Ghana, Ghanaians like you and I, and especially the youth of today, who are going to build Ghana. Without an educated populace, we cannot transition from the status of a developing to a developed nation.”

It is for this reason, President Akufo-Addo stated that, in spite of the economic difficulties confronting our nation, “Government has devoted even more resources for the running of the Free SHS policy. From a budget of GH¢2.3 billion in 2022, a 28.6% increase has been applied to this year’s budget for Free SHS, i.e., GH¢2.96 billion.”

Just like he did at the Farmers’ Day Celebration, the President called on all Ghanaians, in these difficult times, to support the fiscal measures that the Government has proposed to enable us achieve the goal of restoring macroeconomic stability and promoting inclusive growth, whilst protecting the poor.

“I am optimistic the policies outlined in the 2023 budget will go a long way to address the economic challenges with which we are faced,” he added.

“1D1F: 17 COMPLETED; 16 UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN EASTERN REGION” – PREZ AKUFO-ADDO

Prez Nana Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has backed the One-District, One-Factory initiative, under the broader industrialisation agenda of government, as a basis for developing a home-grown infrastructure that is capable of withstanding the uncertainties of exogenous shocks to the Ghanaian economy.

In this regard, the President pointed out that the Eastern Region, alone, has seen seventeen (17) completed 1D1F enterprises, with another sixteen (16) at various stages of completion and soon to be commissioned, as well as another four(4) at the project conception stage.

The performance and success of the completed 1D1F projects across the country, with regards to minimizing unemployment and shoring local production, has thus far, been a clear indication of President Akufo-Addo’s long held belief that Ghana’s path towards self-reliance is largely premised on the country’s determination to industrialise.

According to the President who is began a three-day tour of the Eastern Region on Friday, 21st October, 2021, “the whole purpose of the policy means having factories and enterprises here in Ghana, which will substitute the ones that are coming from abroad. That is the whole purpose of the policy. Instead of importing XYZ, you’re going to have them made here.”

He added that, “when we said we wanted to implement 1D1F and certain strategic industrial policies, we were told it couldn’t be done, but today everyone is talking about how important it is for the Ghanaian economy to lessen it’s dependence on foreign goods and foreign services.”

“Now people are beginning to understand that indeed we had the foresight, we knew exactly what we needed to do to bring substantial progress, real progress not intermittent progress, but substantial progress which is going to be strong and resilient. That is what I’ve noticed is ongoing,” he added.

President Akufo-Addo indicated further that, “by the time we are through, then the commitment of a 1D1F would have been established. And we can only strengthen the industrial development of the country, which is very important to note that foreign import dependence will not inure to our growth. We have the panacea, the solution, and Government is working to towards it.

President Akufo-Addo’s 1D1F initiative is meant to change the nature of Ghana’s economy from one which is dependent on import and export of raw material to one which is focused on manufacturing, value addition and export of processed goods from raw materials that are largely found in the districts across the country.

Thus far, the One-District-One-Factory initiative, which has seen the ongoing construction of two hundred and ninety-six (296) factories across the country, of which one hundred and twenty-five (125) have been completed, is part of the foundation on which the Akufo-Addo Government is we are building a comprehensive industrialization programme, inspired by the development of strategic anchor industries, such as the emerging automotive industry and the co-ordinated exploitation for the entire domestic value addition of our bauxite and iron ore resources.

“I am hopeful that, by the end of my term, the full complement of two hundred and ninety-six (296) factories will be in operation to help provide quality domestic alternatives to the consumption needs of Ghanaians, and reduce substantially our dependence on imports. We do not only account for the youth as labour in the 1D1F programme, but also as managers and owners. Indeed, fifty-eight (58) of these factories are wholly owned by young people who have received direct government support”, he added.

Ghanaian Celebrate Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto as he celebrate birthday

It is said in Asante that:“s3 onipa y3 ade3 a, )s3 ayeyi” which literally means “when one performs exceptionally well, he deserves praise”. Today being Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto’s birthday, may we all come together and join hands to celebrate him.

‘Legendary birthday to the Legend’s Legend, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (O.A.A.).’

He is the son of the founder of the pre- independence National Liberation Movement (NLM); now the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He is also the longest serving Chief Linguist of Asante, the Legend and Venerable Okyeame Baffour Osei Akoto.
Dr. Akoto is the current and 34th minister for Food and Agriculture who has been adjudged by both local and international renowned entities and personalities as the best Food and Agriculture minister since Ghana’s independence. He is the best performing minister under the Akufo-Addo led NPP government and also currently the true father of NPP i.e. he has NPP at heart always.

It is through his toil together with Nana Addo who made it possible for polling station executives to be delegates, making them part of the selection of flag bearer for NPP when the other leading members of the party were strongly not in support of it. The current potential presidential aspirants for NPP were no where to be found too, he is the main man and others who wavered for Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be the running mate to Nana Addo, many others. In fact, his money, resources and logistics are always going for NPP. That is why I keep on saying that he is the true father of NPP.

It is obvious in Ghana and some other parts of the world that Agriculture is the backbone of the economy and also Agriculture sector is the sector that deals with the poorest people but with Dr. Akoto as Food and Agriculture minister, the sector has performed meritoriously amidst the global challenges such as COVID- 19, Russo- Ukrainian war and others.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto when appointed by his childhood bosom friend and elderly brother, H.E. Akufo-Addo in 2017, promised to make the Agriculture sector a solid sector and in deed he has done just that which is seen by both local and international bodies and personalities. He has been eulogized day in and out by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, President Akufo Addo, Opposition NDC’s Appiah Stadium, Allotey Jacobs, the overlord of Dagbon; Ndan Ya-Na Abukari II, US Ambassador to Ghana; Virginia E. Palmer, DW TV, World Food Prize, Global Food Security Index of the Economic Intelligence Unit and many others.

His era as the Minister for Food and Agriculture has made Ghana the food basket of sub-saharan Africa. There is abundance of food in the country ‘24/7’ and due to that, he has been tagged as ‘Dr Planting for Food and Jobs’, ‘Ghana’s Zaphanathpaneah’, ‘Dr. Okumk)m, ‘the farmers friend’, ‘the pragmatic farmer’ etcetera.
Other Agriculture experts from Africa and other parts of the world come to Ghana to learn from the Agricultural minister, Dr. Akoto.
The Agricultural sector is the sector that has been sustaining the economy even amidst the current economic difficulties in the country. The Agricultural Economist from Cambridge University, Dr. Akoto has really contributed to the economic growth of Ghana than any other in the Akufo- Addo led NPP government. Fact !!!

Even a decade cannot be enough for me to speak about the impeccable records of the Legend and the true Father of NPP, the best Agricultural minister since the independence of Ghana, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
He is intelligent, altruistic, selfless, aristocratic and above all, a humanitarian.

Let us all try, find time and do a philosophy of Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and apply it afterwards to our life activities and I bet you, Ghana will never be the same. Have we ever asked ourselves why Nana Addo does not joke with him at all? Let us try to get the answer by getting time to study about the man, Afriyie Akoto.

Amongst all the potential presidential aspirants within NPP now, none of them come close to Afriyie Akoto when it comes to achievements and impeccable records for NPP, Ghana and the rest of the world; the Agricultural Economist, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto is a legend and is NPP’s surest bet to break the 8.

On his birthday, I pray for long life, good health and strength upon his life. Providence should bring into existence of more of Akoto and Ghana will never be the same.
