Create additional constituency to spread development in Jaman north, Concerned Jaman north Youth to Govt.

A group calling itself the Concerned Youth for Development, in the Jaman north district of the Bono region are advocating for the creation of another Constituency to supplement the existing Jaman north constituency.

According to the Concerned Youth for Development, the Jaman north district has a lot of communities which are scattered which since it’s over 20 years ago during president John Agyekum Kufour , most of the communities have been denied the key and the needed developmental projects which every community within must have.

The Youth argued that, Jaman north district has the pure Bono language speaking and Nfantra language but in terms of development most of the communities and villages lacks the needed developments .

As a Concerned Youth of Development for Jaman north, we that the creation of another constituency in the district will solve the problem of development which is affecting the progress of most of the communities because one member of parliament cannot pay particular attention to all the scattered communities within the district.

It is obvious that every member of parliament must lobby for development to his / her constituency for the assemblies to execute it but it becomes difficult for legislatures to tackle and address developmental issues when their communities are many and scattered.

Based upon this we as Concerned Youth for Development in the Jaman north district, are appealing to the government through the Local Government, Rural Development ministry and the Electoral Commission of Ghana, to consider their humble appeal so that communities which have over the years been lacking the needed developmental projects will be addressed.

“OUR LEGACY STANDS A HIGH RISK OF “SUDDEN DEATH” IF THE AUTHORITY OF GOVERNANCE IS NOT RENEWED IN THE NPP”….. ARMSTRONG ESAAH.

Central Region Secretary hopeful. Mr Armstrong Esaah.

Some months ago, we commenced a great effort to make ARMSTRONG ESAAH the next Central Regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party in the just ended June 2022 regional elections of our great party. Unfortunately, ARMSTRONG had 207 votes out of the 446 valid votes cast and the incumbent gained 239. This results in a difference of 32 votes.

This was not the outcome we had wanted or worked so hard for. However, in conceding, I, ARMSTRONG ESAAH, pledge my support and willingness to work in any capacity necessary within our party to ensure that we break the 8.

First and foremost, I thank my LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST for the gift of life and good health throughout the campaign journey.

I specifically want to thank the delegates and the people of the central region who reposed much confidence in me and committed themselves to my campaign. I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder than the tremendous love you showed me throughout my campaign.

Fellow Patriots, let me state that I have already called my brother, Richard Takyi-Mensah, to congratulate him on his victory and have assured him that I would always be available to work and support him in the interest of our region and our great party. It is my fervent hope and prayer that he succeeds in his tenure as the Regional Secretary. A big congratulation to all winners and let’s all support them to achieve all milestones.

Let me express my overwhelming gratitude to my campaign team and my supporters for their remarkable commitment, sacrifices and love shown me throughout the campaign.

I know how downhearted you are because I feel it, too. But, I want you to remember this: Our campaign was never about one person. It was about the party we love and we must all endeavour to put the outcome of the just-ended regional elections behind us and unify around the shared goal of breaking the 8-year jinx in 2024.

REMEMBER MY QUOTE: “OUR LEGACY STANDS A HIGH RISK OF “SUDDEN DEATH” IF THE AUTHORITY OF GOVERNANCE IS NOT RENEWED IN THE NPP”

May God bless us all and may God bless the New Patriotic Party, may God bless the Central Region and May God bless our motherland, Ghana and make it great and strong.

KOFI NKANSAH REMINDS ROAD MINISTER OF KUMASI INTERCHANGE.

CEO NEIP, Mr Kofi Ofosu Nkansah

Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP) Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has reminded the Roads Minister of the need to work on the Interchange the government promised the people of the Ashanti Region.

He argues that the country’s capital Accra has had its fair share of interchanges so can be said about Tamale and Takoradi.

Therefore there is a need for the attention to be shifted to the Ashanti Region where the government promised to construct an interchange for the people to ease traffic congestion in the city.

He said doing this will ease the pressure on personalities and especially Members of Parliament who have always had to find “something to say” to their constituents.

Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah

Forever Product
“Dear Roads Minister, this is a gentle reminder that Kumasi is yet to have any of its planned interchanges start. Accra has had its fair share of Interchanges. Tema has some. Same for Tamale. Takoradi one is also ongoing. Please do something before the end of the year na we are tired of giving our people excuses.”

In recent times, the President of Ghana commissioned the first-ever interchange in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale. The interchange according to road users has eased traffic in the city and has made engaging in economic activities in that part of the country easily

Invest, list on local Stock Exchanges – VP Bawumia to mining companies

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has challenged mining companies operating in Ghana and the entire West African sub-region to work with Governments and regulatory bodies to establish a mining index on local Stock Exchanges to allow both the owners and investors in the minerals to benefit from its exploitation.

The benefits of a mining index on the local bourse are enormous, enabling both the State, Mining Companies, beneficiary communities and investors to attract the necessary capital and built in incentives for all involved, Dr Bawumia indicated.

Veep Dr Bawumia

Speaking at the opening session of the three-day West African Mining and Power Exhibition and Conference (WAMPOC/WAMPEX) in Accra on Wednesday, 1st June 2022 Dr Bawumia urged African countries to hasten the development of the capacity to interact with the world’s natural resources banks, fund managers and the leading stock exchanges in the world to allow locals to benefit more from the minerals bequeathed to them by nature.

“In this regard, let me sound a clarion call on the big mining companies operating here in Ghana and indeed, the West African sub-region, to work towards the emergence of a mining index on our Stock Exchanges and thereby accelerate their growth and significance in African mining.

“This will require deep collaboration among the local stock exchanges, their regulators, as well as mining firms to incentivize Ghanaians to own listed greenfield exploration projects as the upside on such investments tend to be higher”, he noted.

While acknowledging the enormous resources found on the African continent, the Vice President called for a careful balance between the profit-seeking needs of investors, and the sustainable living needs of the communities within which the minerals are found.

“Yes, Africa is endowed with many mineral resources but while the availability of the resources is important, the over-riding aim for all parties should be the evolution of a carefully balanced mechanism to ensure that the resources of the state benefit the owners of the resource and at the same time extend benefits to investors to ensure that the State is able to sustainably attract the needed capital, investment and technical know-how from a world which has come to the realisation that Africa is the continent of the future.

“Significantly, the African Union has been reassessing critically the real significance of mining to host country economies over the years. As a result of these efforts, the African Mining Vision (AMV) emerged as far back 2009. In essence the African Mining Vision seeks to ensure the transparent, responsible, equitable and optimal exploitation of Africa’s Mineral resources for broad-based sustainable socio-economic development for the host Governments and its citizenry,” he disclosed.

He challenged African countries and mining companies to collaborate on a sub-regional and even regional basis to derive the most benefit from the exploitation of Africa’s mineral resources.

“We need a strategy to enable us to pool the mineral resource rich countries in West Africa and beyond together to assume the mantle in the transformation of our economies with a greater awareness of mining as a more comprehensive and transformational economic activity and as a key back bone for our country.

“Given the paucity of size of stand-alone countries it is only proper that we consider regional dimensions to local content since individual African Country Markets may be too small to elicit the much-needed investments. Investors desire economies of scale to justify such investments and it is necessary that we consider the regional economic blocs in Africa as sub-markets which can then collectively constitute the building blocks of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).”
